In a forgotten part of the universe, where no light has ever been, there is a kingdom called Crystfanboyopia.
Long ago the kingdom was ruled by a benevolent monarch called PlayStation 2. Under the reign of PlayStation 2 the citizens of Crystfanboyopia enjoyed years of prosperity, like the golden year of SSX Tricky, or the immortal happiness of the years of Metal Gear Solid.
But just a few years ago a dark cloud came to visit the peaceful kingdom, and that cloud was the army of the evil Xbox360!
Led by a ruthless Cyborg Warrior dressed in shiny green armour, the assault on the kingdom was fast and unrelenting! The War raged for years, but as every month meant another victory for the armies of Xbox306, the King knew his reign was slowly ending.
As the sounds of battle started to die and the once raging fires were nothing but embers, King PlayStation 2, in a last ditch attempt, used all his knowledge of the arcane to transform himself into his ultimate form… PlayStation 3 – Lord of the BluRay!
But it was too late…
The armies of Xbox360were too strong and too numerous, and despite the Old King’s attempts, the kingdom of Crystfanboyopia was lost.
Years passed and even though plagues like RROD ravaged the lands, the Dark Prince Xbox360ruled. But there were always the rumours of the Old King’s movements. Stories of free multiplayer services and awe inspiring graphics filled the taverns of Crystfanboyopia, but the Dark Prince was wise… He told his citizens of better seak speeds and kept them occupied with the festivities of the new age of Gears of War, and when times got to their most turbulent the Dark Prince was always quick to remind his citizens of the Green Cyborg and his legions.
And then hope…
Across the horizon the banners of the Old King could be seen, and they were carried by the new forces of PlayStation 3. Although they were defeated, they never stopped trying to reclaim what was once theirs! Bathed in the power of BluRay and armed with the greatest technology the Old King’s alchemists could develop, PlayStation 3′s armies rode towards the Dark Prince’s citadel…
Led by a young rouge named Nathan Drakeand his lieutenant Sackboy, the armies of PlayStation 3 looked as if they were going to retake their lands! But as they started to celebrate the ground which hey had taken back, the Dark Prince (in his most cunning act to date) summoned forth his ultimate weapon… Halo Reach
Nathan Drake could see his resistance fighters were crumbling against the new enemy, and even he lost all hope of regaining his fathers lands when the Dark Prince unleashed the Controller Free warriors of the Kinect region.
And then something happened that no one was expecting…
The Old King summoned MOVEment warriors from the 3rd dimension!! Even though the Dark Prince had the larger army; and even though the Green Cyborg was powerful, the forces of Xbox360 were driven back…
But the battle was not over…
Halo Reach held on strong in the knowledge that just over the horizon the soldiers of the 3rd age of Gears of Warwere on there way. But was it enough? Will the Dark Prince lose this battle and be banished from Crystfanboyopia? Only time will tell…
THE END…
So that was basically the story of me as a fanboy, how I started out loving PS then my allegiances shifted to Xbox (I left out my PC days as they are best forgotten). But it’s recent events that make this post “interesting.”
I hate to admit it but the PS fanboy in me is starting to take over! But why you ask?
In a nutshell:
- Move -Yes on paper Kinect is “better”, but games will not be played on paper! IRL Kinect is probably going to collapse under the weight of all its (yet to be proven) promises. Where as Move (although not as flashy) will work.
- 3D – Like Boonichiwa pointed out, 3D is the latest fad when it comes to gaming and TV tech. But what is blowing me away is the application of the tech! Thanks to Broke My Controller we know that Sony has filed patents for stereoscopic technology. But why is stereoscopic technology awesome? Simply because it will bring about a completely new form of same console multiplayer. Basically it’s going to let two people play multiplayer, on the same console; on the same screen, but without splitscreen!!!
