Metro: Exodus

Well, E3 has come and gone, and in its wake we have been left a veritable smorgasbord of new games, technology and esoteric concepts. (MMO’s confuse Raven. -Ed)

Now one of the games that has truly moistened a few pairs of Morph-Man’s britches is the long awaited sequel (Third in the series! -Ed) to the amazing Metro 2033 and Metro: Lastlight. This is *Insert drum roll here* Metro: Exodus.

Now for those that have not played the Metro series let me give you a little background information. The games are based on the best selling novel series from Russian author Dmitry A. Glukhovsky, in which, as usual, the world has gone to pot and a small number of survivors are hold up in various Metro (Subway or Underground) stations across the globe. Though the games and books focus on the metro-line in Moscow.

Now we do not know much about Metro: Exodus, but from the few things we’ve picked up it seems that the game is no longer running along the linear story-lines of the previous titles. Instead, the game seems to be set in a massive open world environment that, unlike other open world games, is full of complexity and lethal adventures. (Think Fallout 4, except bloody difficult. -Ed)

According to the online rumour mill the game will take place over the course of a year giving players a variety of challenges as the seasons come and go; the weather changes and your enemies become more or less lethal. The game will also feature an immersive crafting aspect as well as other involving features.

Now we still have a few months left before we get to sample this amazing looking game; but as long as they deliver what they have shown us all at E3, then we’ll be in for an amazing gaming experience. Who knows, perhapsĀ Metro: Exodus will become the most immersive and intense survival game in history?
