Nahtaivel: Epicus Doomicus Electronicus

With a title like Epicus Doomicus Electronicus, one would expect an album riddled with intense sounds, grinding noise, Sci-Fi “boops and beeps” and deliciously dark lyrics that send disfiguring shivers up and down your spine – and I can say that with all honesty that is exactly what Nahtaivel has created.

“Sci-fi movies and series have made a great impact on me, and inspired me a lot in this new album. Works like Solaris (the Russian one), 2001, Blade Runner, Star Trek (movies and series), Battlestar Galactica, Twelve Monkeys, Brazil, etc… I tried to make a musical companion to them.”

Tracks like Life: Abomination and Endless Galaxies are peppered with gloriously haunting sounds and penetrating lyrics that ascend your inner geek, causing distorted dancing and fevered movements.
And yet, not all the songs on Epicus Doomicus Electronicus are riddled with The Green Slime. One song in particular: Here Comes the Rain (feat. Luciano Cardoso GÇô The Chanceller) is a beautifully haunting piece of music whose soul-inspiring lyrics flow gently through the ether, piercing even the most hardened of hearts.

Overall, Epicus Doomicus Electronicus  is a fantastically unique album that’s riddled with Science Fiction cheese and B-rate glory. This is a must for anyone who likes something different.

The album is available on Nahtaivel‘s website and Bandcamp.
