Come one, come all, see the horror of cosplay

If it goes bump in the night, leaves you with chills and nightmares and it’s related to geek culture, I wanted to interview it. Since most of these supernatural freaks aren’t real though, I went looking for those who paid homage to them with incredible cosplays. What would be closer to the real thing that a fan who spent months trying to impersonate it after all? Here follows a basic interview with the four freakiest cosplayers I could find and talk too. Not all are monsters but they all are just plain creepy in their own right, whether they be soaked in evil or ridiculously unpredictable. Prepare your holly water folks. Cosplaying in SA and beyond

Until fairly recently I wasn’t a cosplayer, I was that person aspiring to be first-time cosplayer. I would threaten to start running around as video-game and Anime characters publicly often, but never knew how one got into the culture. Do you have to be part of a club? Are there rules? Do cosplayers like… eat? Stepping into the cosplay arena can seem a daunting task at first – not knowing where to begin or if you will even be able to pull it off. Is your reason for wanting to be Son-Goku for a day good enough to spend months on making a costume? We recently asked some cosplayers for their input to the questions that hound most aspiring cosplayers, […]

This past weekend (10-12 October) was one of the most anticipated nerd/geek events of the year, and while the main focus of the expo is gaming and technology a new scene is starting to emerge. With cosplayers from all across the country working for months to create elaborate outfits, often going to the extent to create one cosplay for each day, leaving the most elaborate and spectacular for the competition, which is organised by Legion Ink. However, this year, in many ways, seemed almost like a mile stone for […]
