Mantle: Lost (Music Review)

Mantle Music:Lost

Well it seems that mad Scottish type person of the Celtic variety is at it again. Once again Fracture is playing around with music, but this time he’s gotten a few of his friends on board. This is Mantle. This is the multi-remix album “Lost.” The tracks on this lost EP are, well, EP tracks. 6 of the 8 are remixes for the title song “Lost.” 1 is the original song; and the last one is a bonus track. The remixes are quite diverse though. They tend to range from the bouncy club filler by Bastard Son, to the pounding sounds of miXile, and finally to the grinding industrial of Harsh Discipline. Overall, “Lost” is a tight little album that […]

Striker (Band Interview)

Today we speak to Tim from Striker. Let’s start with this: What’s the history of your band? We are a bunch of Party Instigators from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We shred the pants off of anyone who comes and sees us live and we’ve been kicking ass and taking names since about 2007! What’s your musical history? (Trained or Amateur) A little bit of both I suppose! Some of us have had classical training on our instruments, but we’ve all taken band class, piano lessons, etc when we were growing up. Mostly self taught for the most part though! So what can you tell us about your latest album? (Inspiration. Sound. Style.) It’s a mix of 80s hair metal and thrash/power/speed […]

Ominous Eclipse (Band Interview)

Today we speak to Graham from Ominous Eclipse. Let’s start with this: What’s the history of your band? My fellow bandmate Ryan Clements and I were in a previous band together in highschool. After the band dispersed we decided to continue playing music together. I wrote songs and he found us James Close and Andrew Poskus completing the line up of our new group. Since then we have worked our way into the local scene starting with small bar shows and moving up to opening for respectably well known metal bands such as The Agonist, Revocation and Skeletonwitch to name a few. We released our first album “End Of Days” in 2015 and even snagged a guitar endorsement with the […]

We’re a metal band based in Edmonton AB, we just hit our ten year anniversary, and in that time we have put out 3 EPs, 2 LPs, 1 Live album, and 1 Live DVD. Also, we like beer, and don’t give a shit about the sub genres that everyone seems so butt-hurt about. What’s your musical history? (Trained or Amateur) We’ve all been playing for 15+ years, I don’t think I’d call us amateurs any more, one of us went to music school though. I’ll let you guess. So what can you tell us about your latest album? (Inspiration. Sound. Style.) It’s a bit […]

Mantle (Interview)

Mantle Music:Lost

Today we speak to Fracture of Mantle. Firstly, please tell our readers who and what you are. I am Mantle – Evolve with Mantle. So from DJ Fracture to Mantle. Why the change from DJing to music making? DJing was fun, fun with other peoples music. I wanted to express myself, my own ideas, my own thoughts. So it just seemed like the most natural thing to do. It gives me an outlet more than what djing ever could. Now you’ve released your début album “Strange Factory“. Please, tell us about it. (Inspiration. Sound. Style.) The whole concept about Strange Factory is over consumption, globalisation, the human effect on the planet via industry, supply and demand. Its bleak… Listen to […]
